A project I had a few months ago was designing a Moleskine cover (via
Engrave Your Book) for my former college floormate Kinndy. The cover is meant to be a gift for her boyfriend for their three year anniversary. THREE YEARS, wow! Nate and I will be hitting that mark in June.
So yes, she's not the car fanatic. And... neither am I! When Kinndy told me that I would be drawing cars I was a bit intimidated. Thankfully, I already practiced on Bethany's invitations by drawing Bryan's Bethany-bus (geez that's a lot of Bs in one sentence--story of my life in February).
Well, here it is! Kinndy's boyfriend recently bought an old Fairlady Z and is currently restoring it into good condition, and so she wanted it to be the inspiration to his gift.
The cover has a front and back view of the Fairlady Z. The print-like background was actually Nate's suggestion! I just made it come to life.
The stamp at the bottom of the page is a customized symbol that I'm sure has significance (I only get instructions, and not necessarily the explanation).

Yes. Men like to name their cars with girl names.
An update from me: I am finally back from an intense few weeks of travel. It started off in Irvine to Philadelphia to NYC to Washington DC to Boston. I think I've had enough of pretzels and ginger ale.
But... I'm traveling AGAIN next week back to Southern California (rooooad trip!) for Bethany and Bryan's wedding!!!
